    no worries, glad it helped!
I actually think I fixed it now. I have been talking to a support representative for corsair for about 4 days now. After getting useless suggestions one after another, he said to disable USB initialization in the BIOS. I wasnt sure what this was, so I went into my bios and found Legacy USB support and disabled that and windows seems to boot up fine now. anyone else with this issue, try that. But honestly, I am really unimpressed that I would have to even do that in the first place. It should work right of the box after all the drivers are installed. Not to mention it shouldnt PREVENT my system from booting! What are you doing, Corsair!?

I have the same problem with my HP Pavillion d whatever laptop. Whenever I turn my computer off (full shutdown) it will not boot back up properly unless I hit the restart switch. The spinning dots stop dead. None of the solutions in this thread work for me as it is just a laptop, no USBs or other. BTW I upgraded to Windows 10. (I cannot figure out how to edit my profile info.)

Did you try turning off fast startup in Windows 10?

The posted tutorial link is pretty clear on how to do this. Follow it closer or post screen images of anything that does not correspond to Brink's screen shots.

Your system may not like fast startup, which hangs waiting for the cached image to boot. but you shouldn't need a script to disable it:

    Try the following:

Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Power Options -> Choose what power buttons do -->Untick the "Turn on fast startup (recommended)".
Reinstalling Win 10 on a buddy's HP desktop. Thought this puzzling symptom might indicate a more sinister problem. Cha-ching. Resolved.
    Thank you.
