And thank you for your reply. You've often got to have the RIGHT version of the run-time for a particular program. You can have multiple versions installed. Anyway, I'm now out. Unsubscribed.

Hobocopy's official downloads page has disappeared, except on the Wayback machine.

The last version is hobocopy-unstable-64bit-20110505-01, and it requires VC++ 2010. Because it has a .pdb file (for backwards compatibility), you need to be inside the Hobocopy folder and not just call it from a relative path.

Did you get it working?

I use the WinSCP FTP program with its batch file parameters to auto upload to an FTP directory. Scripting and Task Automation :: WinSCP

I highly recommend WinSCP as an FTP client as it's not only feature rich, but can make use of Amazon AWS S3 buckets and file transfers are binary by default. With the ever popular Filezilla (no relation to Mozilla) they use ASCII as default and that'll jack up your image uploads in a heck of a hurry. I can't tell you how many people at the phpBB help forum rudely found this out before they figured out that they had to change the default from ASCII mode to binary mode. And to make matters worse, it seems the Filezilla Dev is unwillingly to change it.

For a pretty cool FTP server, I use Serva. PXE Server for Windows (UEFI & BIOS) - Serva (Tip: Right click the Serva top window to select the option to reduce to taskbar).

Yes. It might be because I discarted the PDB file that was already part of the 32-bit package and hobocopy worked fine in the 32-bit Win7 without it — but am too lazy to give it a try to confirm.

ncftpput works OK for my need. The issue was how to copy locked files through VSS, which robocopy/xcopy don't support.
