    If you can deduce that it is, from this post, I would appreciate your displaying the logic of that conclusion please.

    You have now added evidence which was not available.

    But we have provided the tools.

    The evidence is available if you can be bothered to look at what Ramesh Srinivasan posted in there. The task in Task Scheduler is \Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser, which exists on Win 10 and is enabled by default, and which runs Windows Compatibility Telemetry, or %windir%\system32\compattelrunner.exe and that periodically sends usage and performance data to Microsoft IP addresses so that improvements can be made on user experience and fix potential errors.

    He was able to repro it, I'm able to repro it. I'm fairly confident that everyone else who can simply right-click on this task and choose to disable it should be able to repro it so, as much as I hate to rain on your parade, none of the tools that you provided are even remotely close, when the reality is that the correct answer can be found within fractions of a second by googling.

    You're welcome.

    Have a nice day!

    This article is a more definitive explanation for the skeptics.

    Hi all, thank you for replies, I have found on the cause, it is actually a task created by Edge - MicrosoftEdgeUpdateTaskMachineCore{4863EB3F-60F6-4999-9EEC-3A0986EA8C3F}

    seems to be running only on startup now. I will probably leave it as is.
