Mousepad has a mind of its own (the little rat)

When moving the cursor around on the mousepad, the text I'm working in, whether in a document on Google Drive or in Microsoft Word 365 (trial version), the document enlarges or shrinks based on the mousepad's whim. Sometimes moving the cursor just a bit to edit a word, shifts the entire text so that i'm many paragraphs above where I intended to be (and thought I was).

This is a new Windows 10 HP laptop, model Crap but Cheap. Oh, sorry, model 15-ac161nr.

    Thank you all.

Check for new mousepad drivers, and make sure that nothing else is touching the mousepad other than your finger(s) if it has a multi-touch one. I would give you an exact link to the drivers, except the manual driver download page is not working for some reason so here's a link to the automatic driver update utility instead. Just click the orange "Check now" button.
