Another option is to use a 3rd party file copy tool that allows you to add files to be copied to a list- creating a job- perhaps Fastcopy (free personal) or Teracopy (free with restricted facilities for personal use) for example.

Teracopy (free versions) allow you to queue files.

    Teracopy via Softpedia

Fastcopy (portable, free) can also queue files but you need to copy file/ folder paths into the source list.

Select all of them, and drag them all together. Windows will copy them one by one

How do I do this when files are in different folders
It won't work with different folders.. Use Teracopy, as Dalchina and Callender suggested.

Can you give us an example of files? Are the names random? It is doable with script, but is probably more work with it than just use some app.

Thanks yes the names are random. I'm going to give one of the above 3rd party apps a try.

    1. I find the search idea works (I happened to rt click the found items and dragged them to the destination).

    2. Interestingly the search idea for items from different folders also works... if you ..
    - rt click the files or folders found
    - click Send to
    - click Folder
    and choose a folder.

(I have Send to folder configured- you may not...)
