What software are you trying to install? Where did you get the DLL? It looks like this would be the correct location:

    Releases . ArtifexSoftware/ghostpdl-downloads . GitHub

It happens with almost any software that I try to install.
I just googled gsdll32.dll download, I tried different websites (this one for example) but I still get the same error.

That is very odd. Only programs that use GhostScript would need that DLL. It seems that some process is kicking off that uses that DLL and I wouldn't be surprised if it's malware.

You should avoid downloading DLLs (or any executable) from some random site that comes up in a search. That's a recipe for getting hijacked. It's best practice to find the correct, original package that provides the DLL and install that. However, in this case, I suspect you're treating a symptom of a bigger problem.

Unless someone chimes in with specific experience with this issue, I'd recommend scanning for malware and doing a Windows repair install. What AV software are you using?

Edit: It wouldn't hurt to try the usual SFC and DISM commands and see if that helps:

    sfc /scannow
    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

I agree don't download dll from the web like this to add to the discussion dll is an archive to store code so this means downloading a dll file from an untrustworthy source could lead to viruses.

I agree with the previous person in that you may have a wider issue at hand if you are getting missing dll errors across several applications. Sounds like a can of worms to me.

also to note when you install an application that has dll files those would become registered when that application is installed, id say adding all this up you have a bigger problem at hand.

The correct method would be as @LesFerch mentioned run those scans and then reinstall the application if you still get the DLL error then there is something else non kosher happening probably malware.

This also does not help the situation and you need to be careful with these folders. I would remove the files you put here.

I use Avast, but couldn't find any issue.

I use Avast, but used my pc for sometime before installing it.

What is SFC and DISM? What should I do?
