    Boot loop - Please help!


    I recently installed a new screen on my laptop (Acer Nitro 5). Everything seemed to be working fine for a few days until this morning, when my laptop just randomly restarted itself.

    Now it's stuck in a boot loop, and won't get past the initial Acer loading screen.

    I've created a Windows 10 USB, to try getting into safe mode, but I can't even get it to boot from USB. It just keeps restarting in a loop.

    Without the USB, I get a 'Preparing Automatic Repair' message, then it just restarts over and over again in the same loop.

    When I go into BIOS, sometimes my screen glitches and flickers, which makes me think it might be a hardware issue, but I'm not sure.

    I have no idea what to do. Please help!

    If the screen glitches in the Bios, then either the Video cable is not plugged all the way in. Reseat the cable to the back of the screen and the motherboard.
    If after reseating you still have issues with video glitches, then the GPU that is soldered onto the motherboard is failing and the motherboard would need to be reset.
    In addition, you are having Windows booting issues. If your Windows 10 USB Flash Drive installer was created with the Media Creation Tool, put the drive in the computer and start it, press F12 continuously, you will get a one time change of Boot Order, here you can choose the Flash Drive. It should boot from the Windows Installer, if not you did not burn the Flash Drive correctly. Once in the installer, select your Language then click Repair Your Computer, which brings up Troubleshooting/Advanced and start with the Startup Repair.
    If the screen Glitches in the installer, look to the first part of this post.
    If the computer boots into Windows, you can also attach an external monitor, if that works, then the GPU is fine, but the video cable or the LCD screen are bad.

    You're not the only one in boot loop


    Hello

    I work in IT and today 30 HP laptops did exactly the same as yours did after an update.

    Long string of updates that have kept the Service Desk rocked off it's feet.

    We have adjusted Wdac (Clutching at straws) and now have to re-image all those laptops with a USB stick.
    Thanks Microsoft -hite.

    Anyone else know how to get them out of this loop?
    Probably get another 30 tomorrow.
