Boot Order Windows 64bit Home edition fully up to date.

ASUS UEFI BIOS Utility EZ Mode

Recently cloned my OS to a new SSD, however the bios has thrown me somewhat.

The PC has four drives, of which only two appear in the boot priority section. The new drive not being one of them.
If I hit F8 to review drives all drives appear as they should, if I select the new Samsung SSD the bios does not allow me to hit F10 to save and exit.

Mind, if I push return after selecting the drive, windows loads fine.

How do I get the bios to launch the Samsung SSD on power up?

Thoughts appreciated.

If the disk you cloned is still connected then the Bios might be having difficulty telling them apart.
Remove the old disk to check this.

Good thought but the old disk, with OS, has been removed.

Just an idea.
Does your Disk mgmt look normal - EFI system partition & the OS partition shown on the same disk?

Many of the members who could help you are in different time zones so you might get sensible suggestions later on.

Chris,

Hopefully that diagram will inform others who know more than I do about partitions and can help you recover.

If I was faced with your situation & could not get any advice, I'd make a system image of the whole disk [that the OS is on] then reinstall Windows on it & then restore the C:\ drive only to the C:\ drive of the new installation [thus getting you back to square one for your OS, its Settings, its installed applications, ...]

I only have one example of a Windows 10/11 MBR arrangement.
Its System reserved partition is on the same disk as the OS partition but the OS partition labels/properties are different to yours [as shown below].

From your screenshot bios has handed control to the mbr executable code on disk 2. Which indicates either that disk 2 is ahead of disk 3 in bios boot order. Or you booted into it via manual bios selection.

There should be a way of changing the boot order in bios setup.

disk 2 partition 1 is system which indicates the bcd entry already points at the os on disk 2 partition 2 .

In that case, do notice that the System reserved partition is not on the same disk as the OS partition.
