Continuous scrolling in system menus - not documents etc though

    Not done the mobo chipset drivers. That is a bigger job with bigger risks. So I need to do that when I have time to recover. Also need to go back and find my mobo details.

    It's resolved. By magic apparently. Though it may be a coincidence that there was a Windows update this morning, presumably the one that was lost when I reimaged. And this evening everything is back to normal. Seems a bit of a coincidence. But I don't see how a problem created by a, now resolved, buggy update wasn't fixed when I did the reimage that excluded it. OTOH the only thing that's changed between last night and this morning was that update.
    Oh well. Thank you all for your suggestions, even if apparently it was a magic spell that was needed.

    That is good news and thanks for keeping us updated. Hopefully, it was the update that resolved this, but as you say, it is strange.
