    C Drive too full.

Hi all. Newbie here. Senior citizen slightly illiterate with PCs especially Win10.
    Desktop PC. > 500gb Cdrive & 2Tb data drive.

Cdrive is 446Gb full of about 460Gb available. The Owner folder in C>users is 373gb.
The Downloads & Documents folders account for 12Gb. And that's about all I can see.

Can some direct me to what tutorial I need to read or perhaps offer a simple solution?

On your 2TB Drive create a folder, call it User Files or whatever. Create User files inside this folder (ie) Documents, Downloads, Desktop, Pictures etc. Browse to your C:\Users\UserName folder and change the location of each of these folders to the same named folders on the 2TB Data drive. Here are instructions for moving the Location of the Documents folder, do this for all of the User files Move Location of Documents Folder in Windows 10

After you have done this and tested that the shortcuts work for the new location, you can download WinDirStat to find out what else is taking up space.

PS, I am a senior citizen too.

Goto settings system then storage that shows you were files are and the type but run the storage space to remove files like temp and old system files see how that helps

Run these from elevated CMD, all of these locations have potential to become quite unwieldy and this would be a good area to start with.

    cleanmgr.exe /VERYLOWDISK

Clean up old windows image files by running.
    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase

If you don't use hibernate turn it off as it can get quite big, windows will delete this file itself if it is applicable.
    powercfg.exe /hibernate off

    Clean Temp folder
    rd /s /f /q %systemdrive%\Windows\Temp

Consider setting your page file to be dynamic with a min/max threshold. Not sure of the top of my head but the page file may default to the size of your ram so if you have lots of ram then that means your page file is going to be big by comparison.
For example if you have 32gb of ram your page file will take up 32gb of disk space there is not much point in having a page file this big.

I don't think moving the Documents folder is going to net you much space generally only small files go in there and overall it does not net much space.

look at the programs others have mentioned and learn about how to housekeep the computer. There is a lot of stuff you can remove without consequence if you know what to look for. Its to much to go over here but the above should net you some savings if you never run these things.

You should keep your system drive usually C:\ to only house the important stuff mainly windows and its associated stuff. You can install programs to it but its better to install third party stuff to slave drives. That way you keep the drive free from clutter.

As far as 3rd party programs go I understand I should uninstall & re-install in the data-drive. Also move MyDocs & Download folders over.
    Anything else before I start?

I've run cleanup stuff but hardly a dent on the 446Gb.

I just uninstalled some programs from the Cdrive e.g. photshop & I'll re-install soon on datadrive.

    It saved only 1gb.
