Random freezes completely lock up computer

I'm running Win10 22H2 19045.2604. This has started happening at random. I'll be away from the keyboard for a certain amount of time(I have a KVM) and when I switch back, the machine will be just locked up. No BSOD, no error, no nothing. It is happening completely at random. Sometimes things will run for a month, sometimes I'll get two freezes in a 24 hour window. Where should I start to troubleshoot this?

Good question.

I'm not a techie, and my laptop hasn't frozen since Win 95 (or whatever) but I assumed that the app that's causing the freeze would be hogging nearly 100% of the resources.

So close that process.

I think Windows is now sufficiently robust to withstand arbitrary killing of processes.

Added:

Of course, Ctrl+Alt+Del (AKA "the 3-finger salute") is the ancient way to unstick things.

If Task Manager opens but is underneath, I think Alt+O alters the desktop display hierarchy.

That really doesn't help. The issue here is that the machine hard locks up and I can't even get to the task manager, much less use Ctrl-Alt-Delete combo.

When responding to tricky issues it would help if you used the format that your workplace Help Desk people tell you to use when reporting an issue. Describe your actual steps:

- I pressed this. X happened.
- I typed that. Y happened.
- I clicked the other. Z happened.

Just because you don't see the TM doesn't mean it's not in the desktop object array.

After the two commands that I have already suggested, did you actually try Alt+O (Oscar) to bump the TM to the top of the desktop object display hierarchy? You might need to press Alt+O several times - depending on how many windows you had open at the time of the freeze.

IMO the frozen screen will be the topmost object, so you need to use Alt+O at least once to move it up through the levels.

OK I gave you all the info I have. As I said multiple times I can't do ANY of those commands. It is hard locked. No mouse, no keyboard. I can't do any of these things. I can't press Alt+O or anything. As I said in the original heading. It is completely frozen.
