You're right. Your system runs programs. But it also runs applications.

I thought MRU Blaster (from the link) would be perfect for doing the task you want done.

My advice. Don't run anything "auto" cleanup. Only use programs that let you preview results and modify settings accordingly before deletion. Or else always have a back up.
Just an FYI. RunCommand saves run history if you use it instead of the built in Run dialog box.

EDIT: Actually it uses the same run history as windows but every time you use it to run a command you can save that command to favorites via the GUI.

In order to get an idea of how to configure PrivaZer to meet your own needs it's recommended to initially check the box for only one scan at a time, hit the scan button, then review the results for that individual scan in the right hand pane when the scan has finished - without actually choosing to go ahead with any cleaning. (Leave the Start Cleaning and Shutdown After Cleaning checkboxes empty).
Now here comes the tricky part. It's important to review settings for each scan before going any further. Click on each of the scan names to highlight them then in the right hand pane review your options. (Perform this step for every type of scan listed).

In the meantime it has occurred to me - as I do my routine scanning and cleaning, that I should make sure that RUN has an entry - and if it is still there after the process, I know THAT program was not to blame -(it is SAFE).
It's not space that I want to save, but to deny hackers 'hooks' to attach their malware to. But thanks for the information - it's some thing I had not considered.
hackers dont "hook" into the run list or your temporary internet files etc.
they hook in by not updating your windows, not updating your browser(s), not updating (or using) antivirus, by not using a router (or a firewall, NAT is a decent firewall in itself), by downloading cracked apps and games, by clicking on bogus (scam) links in email, etc
