Desktop icons move around on their own.

I have a dual monitor system on my Dell Vostro desktop and when I arrange the desktop icons like I want them, on the next bootup, all of them are moved around. Some move to the monitor on my right as well. This PC is using Win 10 Pro. I cannot solve this mystery but it sure is a pain to deal with. Any ideas on why this happens? Thanks!

Have you right clicked on the desktop and selected how to display icons?

I have tried all of the settings that the right click offers. I just do not understand why the icons move to the other screen as well as I try to keep them all on the left screen.

You might try one of the 3rd party utilities which let you save and restore desktop icon locations. I use "Desktop OK". There are others.

Did you try completely removing, and re-installing your video card driver?

    For example:
I have an Nvidia video card.
    1) I would go to: Programs and Features, and uninstall my video card driver.
(KEEP NOTE, after doing so, this may easily re-arrange all your Desktop icons again. Don't re-arrange them back just yet.)
    2) Restart the computer.
    3) Go to your video card's website, and download the latest graphics card driver.
[for me, I would go to Nvidia's website and download the latest driver]
    4) Install it
    5) Restart the computer
    6) Re-arrange icons, not the way you prefer them really for now, but remember the position of a bunch of icons.
    7) Restart the computer
    (8) Do they stay in the same location?

No, this is an old desktop PC that was given to me along with the monitors. There is one graphics card that drives them both but only one is digital and the other is analog. This PC was used in an accounting firm.

I will give this a try. Thanks for the suggestion and steps to take.

Instead of deleting the driver, I was able to update it but that did not help either. I did figure out how to set up the utility app that Selden suggested and it should work properly now. I will go with that for now.

I really appreciate the help guys!

It's a feature of Windows to often mangle the positions of icons. I use DesktopOK to save and restore their positions.
