Looking to unlock any useful Windows 10 and backup (such as OneDrive) features to avoid loss of business info (small side business for civil engineering) and just generally understand what I am doing. Computer was compromised when I fell for a phone scam a few years ago and I lost a bunch.

to create links to C: drive folders on OneDrive and am breathing a little easier. Thanks. Too-bad file deletion does not work both ways. Is the same true with the Documents folders which OneDrive handles by default?

You can never have too many Backups, I would not depend on OneDrive though as your only Backup.
We strongly suggest making a System Image of the Disk that Windows is on and saving that image on another drive, like an External USB HDD. 2023 Pick List: 7 Best Free Imaging Software for Windows 11/10/8/7 - EaseUS
We used to recommend Macrium Reflect, but they are no longer offering a 100% free version. Most Windows Imaging apps are 30 day free trial, then it costs.

external hard drive is your best friend.
use it is copy your valuable data.
