Back to Win 10 nothing but problems

Back to Win 10 and problems, some help and advice on a couple of subjects please,
Cannot format 64Gb usb drives, keeps claiming write protected. I have tried some online solutions and non work.
also I cannot get a boot edit entry to work for a linux installation installed on a newly created partition.
I am using a new HP laptop 64 bit Win 10
    EFI mode
Not Impressed with Windows 10 after years of Win 7 and a couple of years of Linux Mint.
I would really appreciate help please.
    regards
    Brian

Failure to write or format a USB stick is a common [irresolvable] failure of the stick itself.
I think you'll only be sure of that if you try to format another USB and/or try to format that failing USB in another computer.

I suggest you create a separate thread for your BCDBoot problem. The members who understand BCDBoot might well not look at a thread about a faulty USB stick.

    Best of luck,
    Denis
