I have some folders on my desktop that have names that are too long to be fully displayed. An example would be "Microsoft Generic Programs for..." I would prefer to be able to see the entire name of the folder which in this example would be "Microsoft Generic Programs for Work" Is there a way to do this in Windows 10?
that's not possible, and if there 2 icons with long name one below the other then name of one would overlap the other.
The only way I know how to do that is for you to left click once anywhere on your Desktop, then hold down
Control + Mouse Wheel Up
Keep making your Desktop icons bigger and bigger, and then the whole name will eventually show. But that would be inconvenient to how big all the icons can become. (But since you're only missing that last word, then you don't have to have the icons get too big. You can try it out. Don't like it? Then "Control + Scroll Down" until everything looks correct on your Desktop).
"Apps for Work" seems to fit perfectly on my Desktop. Maybe you can shorten the folder name.
Also, since your computer's view settings actually show all of: "Microsoft Generic Programs for..."
except for the word "Work", then maybe replace "Programs" with "Apps". Maybe that would all fit?

For testing purposes. This MAY actually work well, since you're only missing that one last word. You can MAYBE increase both numbers by one notch at a time, and sign out, then sign back in. Make sure you remember what the default numbers are before playing with those numbers.
Your Desktop icons will most likely re-arrange.
If you're not happy with the results for everything I stated above, then you can set everything back to default, and your icons will all go back to their original placing.
