no startup folder

I will only take 1 point in this post: screenshot of Open Shell, and make 1 comment:

a. Launch Open shell
b. Hover mouse over Programs
c. If using Snip 'n Sketch press win key + SHIFT + S and click this:




Save the screenshot as a file and upload it.

Or, if you have a PrtSc key, use that, copy into e.g. Paint, save the file and upload it.

Comment: If you really have no startup folder either for ALL USERS or for your CURRENT USER (there should be both) you can of course simply create said folders in the right places.

Mine is empty too.

For the most complete list of items starting, from services, drives, shell extensions too... and programs including any launched by scheduled tasks get a copy of Autoruns (free from MS).

Startups are divided into sections so pay attention to those. The tabs at the top can help too.




Note: by default the Startup folder will be empty. Items only appear there if you install certain programs written to place a shortcut there, or if you put one there yourself.

Well, I have a startup folder right where it's supposed to be, as in the link above. But mine is never empty, because I put things in there that I want to run on Startup.
That folder is not for Windows use, but for ours. You might say, it's a Users folder.

Like, the script to force a new Restore Point, and a little cleanup batch file that I wrote, and a shortcut to O.E.Classic, my email program.
I have found that Startup folder to be very useful.

My PC still boots up really fast!

Autoruns shows you all the apps that run in the background of Windows.
If you want to see a list of the apps and programs that start with Windows then
Right click the Taskbar and start the Task Manager, go to the Startup Tab.

Well, I carefully and specifically showed you the sections corresponding to the Startup folder you were asking about.

So look for those in Autoruns- see my screenshot.

All Autoruns can do is enable or disable things- and show you some other information. I suggest you simply use it to view what's there.

Spunk says it shows all apps. Well, it shows, as I said, services, drivers programs, scheduled tasks which may launch a program, and context entries. So rather more than just 'apps'.
