Why on my i phone 12 pro Max when i plug into my desktop to download photos
I don't receive the notification on my phone to allow access or on the computer, the phone just starts charging.

my i phone 6s works when I connect but I get no notification on the I phone 12

If its working, then you must have allowed the access to your phone.

its not i phone 6s it gives me a notification but i phone 12 has no notification for access just starts charging when i plug it into my DELL tower

Sorry i'm not an expert when it comes to phones, hopefully someone with better knowledge will come and help.

My Pixel will do that also unless I look under File Exp [pixel in this case] and expand it to see options some of which is to upload/download etc. YMMV
