Symbolic Links - Can they be used locally?
Hello! I am trying to figure out what I want to do is even possible, my Google-Fu is apparently weak. >.< I want to be able to access the same folders from two different locations. For example, I sorted my music out into two different general genres, but some of it matches both genres. But to have two completely same copies of that music in both folders would be madness and wasteful of drive space. So I want to put it into one folder and Symlink it in the other so it references to the copy in the first folder. All I am finding on Symlinks is for networking, to create a local folder for a network share. Not what I want to do, which is to use Symlinks to reference a local resource but that's somewhere else on the drive. So...
D:\My Music\Industrial\Rob Zombie
D:\My Music\Rock & Metal\Rob Zombie -> D:\My Music\Industrial\Rob Zombie
Can stuff like this be done and if so is there an idiots guide to how? Thank you for your time.
