Use WinAero Tweaker to enable 'Classic search' to get those date dropdowns back.
See How to make Search not incredibly bad?

Well I down loaded that. It is an enormouse list od denny and allow bits. Nothing to do with getting a file search by date in file explorer.

There's even a diagram of the relevant bit in the link I gave you.

    Here you are:

And did you notice- Winaero tweaker has a search box.
If you type 'search' in it - it's the last result.

Good luck- I'm not commenting further on Windows search questions in this forum given the unfortunate way people go on about 3rd party solutions without addressing the question asked.

I have followed Try3’s advice. I ticked the box. I get file Explorer up. I get Home / Share / View. No Search on top ribbon. I have checked WinAero again. The box is ticked. I have re-booted. Box is still ticked. Still no Search on top ribbon.

Ok see you dalchina. WinAcro does have a search box. No date range facility.

There's the search box where it always was.

You can enter your search terms in there.
The Search tab only appears after you have clicked in the search box but it is not of much use anyway.
If you enter, for example, datemodified: in the search box then the date dropdowns appear so you can select a date range. This is better than anything offered in the Search tab.

Nobody said WinAero had a date range facility. It is not a search tool. dalchina pointed out its own search box to you because you were having trouble finding its Enable Classic search entry.
