    it won't upload

it defaults to the American megatrends screen.

I don't know why, but I hit continue without saving.

I accidentally clicked on a dodgy email link a week ago, it doesn't appear to have done anything. Could it be trying to do something ?

How can i post the jpeg ?

The router has nothing to do with your computer startup.
As the link could have a malware I suggest you load a drive image backup.

If I understood well, when you start the computer it enters BIOS. You exit without saving and it boot normally.
    Is it correct?

The BIOS comes up because it's found something new and will keep coming up until you save on the BIOS screen so it won't find anything new

OK. But it doesnt do it every time, only twice..And I don't know what is new..

When it stalls on the american megatrends - if it does it again - instead of hitting f1 what else if anything could i do ?

Do you think it would be a good idea to restore original settings, or update my processor bootup ?

    Sorry for the duplication.

The American megatrends is what I get when it boots.

The next one is the bios when I hit f1 to continue setup.

The time is 10:13 but it isn't, it isnow a few hours later, and the date is wrong also.

The desktop has been switched off at the wall for 2 days.

Could it be the battery ?

I've just rebooted it, without turning the modem etc off at the wall, and it was fine.

The 'CMOS' battery is a possibility.. your PC is 'ex-Win 7'...

How to Replace the CMOS Battery
    etc

You may wish to make a note of your settings before you remove the battery.
