    win ten photos questions

    21h2 19044.2604

i asked about this last or so, and i do not think i got a good answer or if i did it did not work. but everytime i connect my phone to the pc and click the camera name internals storage dcim camera it starts propagating the feil with photos, however it gives me tiny photos and they are all from the oldest photo.

i want larger photos so i can see them and i want the last photo taken. so i go in that folder and click in the view and pick large then i have to go into the sort by and pick descending. i have closed that folder expecting it to save but it fails and then the next time i plug in the phone to get photos from it i have to go thru all of this again.

how can it set that folder so when i go into the phone and photos i get larger photos and they are the last ones taken? i let the phone name them with the data and a file number. this is getting real old.

    thanks

    Bob,

You need to name the utility you've set up to do the job if anybody is to be able to help you.
    - I know there's an app called MyPhone or similar in Windows but I've never used it.
    - I think I've heard mention of the Photos app being able to manage transfers with phones but I've never used that either.

If it's any encouragement, I get my photos across to the computer from my Android phone in two ways and I have no problems:
1 For normal transfers, I use FJSoft's MyPhoneExplorer to 'sync' the phone and the computer including photos. It has a variety of options so the 'sync' can be two way for some folders, one way to the phone for others, one way to the computer for others. It also 'syncs' my MSOffice Outlook Calender, Contacts, Notes & Tasks with similar options available for those transfers. I generally connect by WiFi for MyPhoneExplorer but can also connect by USB cable & Bluetooth.
MyPhoneExplorer links Windows computers and Android phones reliably - my post #3 - TenForums
2 If I know I have a large pile of files, such as photos to transfer, I can connect directly by USB then copy the files across in File explorer. This has the quickest transfer speed.

    All the best,
    Denis

i use the win10 to do this i don't have any apps that i know of unless they came with win10 i plug in the phone and a folder pops up that says bobs a51 then i click that and it goes to dcim then to camera and then the photos start to show up but they are small and they are inverted. i just tried to do a clip and i get an error for cova and i have that turned off. so before i go further i have to figure out what the snip and sketch is not saving that snip it want to save some photo from a month ago.

anyway i have an issue like this with the nokia phone that wanted to make me open a new folder so i tossed that phone out.

i do tons of photos for helping people out and i take photos of what i'm doing to send them and i need to be able to plug in the phone and have the phone folder open and then navigate to the photos and have them large enough to see them and have the last one show at the top.

if i can't figure out that snip and stretch i may have to turn cova back on how do i eliminate that damn thing i got notices for that all the time for some reason when i set windows up it gave my computer that name and it seems it is full and windows want me to pay to store my stuff there and i have backup drives this may be another topic so now i will do a reset something changed again this is getting real old everytime i get some update i have to go ther this shit

I'm not sure what you are using for the transfer. Is it opening File explorer & you copy across manually? If so, you're doing what I described in my item #2 and I do not understand why it is not working for you.

Try running File explorer then selecting ThisPC.
Then agree to file transfers in the dialog that appears on your phone.
Then Bobs a51 should appear as a drive and you can browse to the DCIM folder within it.
This was the case with the Samsung A series that I used to use and the other phone brands I've had.

Whilst I don't expect it, check for a subfolder of DCIM that contains the full size images - perhaps your DCIM just contains thumbnails???

ok let's do this again your not understanding i guess

i have chrome browser in fact i just had to do a restore and reinstall chrome and it still does this
i plug in my phone and a folder opens up for the a51 phone
i click on this selection in this folder folder internal storage
    win ten photos questions-screenshot-2023-05-03-091758.jpg

then i click on this selection in this folder dcim
    win ten photos questions-screenshot-2023-05-03-091850.jpg

then i click on this selection camera
    win ten photos questions-screenshot-2023-05-03-091913.jpg
then this is what i get
    win ten photos questions-screenshot-2023-05-03-091948.jpg

so in this last selection i have options in the top bar i click view and click extra large icons and then i have to go to sort order and select descending every time i connect the phone to the pc for getting the photos i just took

i have this pc open that is why you see all the names below the this pc

it may just have thumbs but i can make them open in the large format but ihave to tell the folder everytime i should be able to have my selection save. i have selected them and closed the folder and it still comes back the same there has to be a way to get this to save the way i need it to save or maybe another app to open them in everytime i plug in the phone
    thanks

    1)
    a) Create a folder on your Desktop and name it: Brand New Test Folder
    b) Make a bunch of empty Text documents, or any other files, random files
    c) Change the view setting to, let's say, descending & large icons, like your camera folder.
    d) Close the folder. And open it again. Did it save those view settings?

    IF NOT:
Do you know how to use the Registry?

    ALSO:
    Open PowerShell.
    Copy, paste, Enter:

    ((gp "HKCU:\SOFTWARE\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\BagMRU").Nodeslots).count

    Does it say 5000?

ok this must be a widows thing but it sure would be nice to make it so when i plug in the phone i get large icons and the last photos i took to be the top photos. it is possible that my phone is doing this so now i'm going to try ne of my old phones to see.

so the lg aristo saved that settings i had some photos on it and i set the photo folder to large icons and descending and then took some more photos and they came back large and the last photo taken was the first photo on top of the list. so i wonder if this issue is a phone setting? thanks maybe i need to go to howards or toms forums and ask them about this? thanks

I don't know. I only do it rarely so have never bothered to see if it can be changed.
