    Some of my desktop icons have this translucent box around them


    Some of my desktop icons have this translucent box around them-screenshot-10-.png

    How can I get rid of this? Rebuilding Icon Cache did not work.

    It looks as though it is selected.

    Right-click on the Desktop & select Refresh to see if it's just a Refresh problem [which is the most likely explanation].

    Try this. Make your Desktop the "active window" by clicking anywhere on your Desktop once, with your mouse. You can click once on a Desktop icon.
    Now hold down Control + Mouse scroll once notch down. Then scroll one notch back up, while still holding the Control key.

    Does that get rid of the boxes?
