    Unable to delete files

I have a folder of video files which I would like to delete, but I just get a dialogue box saying "Preparing to recycle", which stays like this forever. So I tried to delete the files one by one, or in smaller batches, and this worked, a box comes up saying am I sure I want to delete and the file is removed, this worked for all but 3 files, when I press the delete button on my keyboard nothing happens, if I click delete on the toolbar I just get the preparing to recycle message. As far as I can se no protection is enabled to prevent them from being deleted. Any ideas as to what may be happening?

    Hello @BJC1992,

    - Are you trying to delete the folder AND subfolders ?
    - If so, you could try the command line approach:

    Code:

    rmdir <Folder_Path> /s /q

Replace <Folder_Path> with the actual Folder_Path.

    I hope this helps.

Check out LockHunter. Within the app, use the "Delete it!" option. See if that works.

So after I turned on the computer today, before I started to look into the points mentioned above, I thought I would see if I could just delete the files as normal, and to my surprise they deleted straight away, so I've no idea what was happening yesterday. Thanks though to all that offered advice.

BJC1992, something for future reference: I'm sure there are more knowledgeable geeks out there than me. But I seem to remember that the trash bin has limitations. To bypass the trash bin, I downloaded 'permanently delete' and added it to panel that opens when you right-click on a folder. I do believe I read it here on the forum. Just search for 'permanently delete' in the search box.
