Windows 10 Feedback App broke this system

Well, there I was running very nicely on W10 using local accounts. Then I thought I'd use the Feedback App. So I started it and it asked for my MS Account information which I provided, and then asked for my login password which I thought odd. The App then ran fine.

Some time later, I tried to shutdown, and almost all the tray icon applications threw up Application Error screens, and then the system went into a permanent "Shutting Down" state (for some hours). I forced a power down and rebooted, all seemed OK until next shutdown, when the whole sorry performance repeated. Boot to Safe Mode and sfc /scannnow made not a jot of difference, though shutdown from Safe Mode worked fine.

Luckily I've been taking daily System Restore points, so I was able to recover.

Clearly this conversion to using an MS Account from a local Account is a "bit borked".

No I don't greatly want to try this again.

I have always been on an MSA account, I have no Idea of what one can do with a local account.

I think you should run the feedback app and tell MS of this. (OK, just joking:)).

Very weird behavior. Sorry I can't suggest an answer. I see lots of googling in your future.
