    Start taskbar has disappeared

    Hi,
Some help please I was a avid win 7 user but have migrated to win 10 on my new HP laptop. When I started to use it it had the usual start sidebar on the left hand side of the screen after a week or two it disappeared and was replaced by centre screen icons.
How can I get the sidebar back?
    many thanks

A screenshot would help but it sounds like you've updated to Windows 11.
And run the command WinVer to remove all doubt.

Note that controlling Win 10 updates/upgrades is a different ballgame- easier if you have Pro.

You have 10 days by default to roll back to Win 10- but note Win 10 support ends in Oct '25.

You can use a free 3rd party start menu (Open Shell) which can be configured to look like Win 7's and more. That gives full drag 'n drop support too. You will probably feel much happier with that- especially if you have inherited a large nested start menu.

The forum prompted you very clearly thus:

    - which would have helped, as Try3 has indicated.
