Overflow hidden icon box will not close

I use greenshot as a screen capture, for some unknown reason it will only run via overflow icon box from the taskbar.
When I click on greenshot to use ...the overflow icon box stays there, it wont close
So when i capture a region (lower half of screen) i get the overflow box as well, which I dont want

version 22H2 (22621.1555) WIN 11 (sorry win 11 forums are not helpful, so posted here...again sorry)

sorry win 11 forums are not helpful
it seems you are referring to your post
USIING GREENSHOT VIA HIDDEN OVERFLOW BOX WILL NOT CLOSE AFTER OPENING | Windows 11 Forum

which I've found for you (would have been helpful to post that).
A good many members of tenforums are also members of elevenforum.

Please note that the interaction of a 3rd party program with one O/S vs another may be different.
Therefore asking here may not actually help you.

Did you see this problem with Win 10?

I have looked to see what support is available for Greenshot for you (I don't use it):
You can ask a question about Greenshot here:
Greenshot support requests - Issues - Greenshot JIRA

I have seen a similar thing with DuckCapture. I a start a screen capture from the icon in the overflow box, that stays open as you say. Instead I double-click that icon to launch its small GUI, then start the capture from that.

To consider: have your Greenshot icon in the system tray, rather than the overflow flyout.
