Well, there are several driver updates available....but only one relating to Graphics....Intel HD Graphics.....downloaded, and installed it.....the black line is still there.......
See if it happens in Safe Mode.
O.k thanks.....there are quite a few driver updates available.....is it good practice to install ALL of them, even though the laptop is working well ?........
If the Black Line is there in the Bios, then it is not a Windows issue. It is hardware. Attach an External Monitor or TV via HDMI cable to the laptop. If it is still there, then it is the Video Chip on the motherboard, and the Motherboard would need to be replaced. if it is no longer there in Windows then the LCD screen needs to be replaced.
Try using something hard like a wood object or the top of a pen bunt not metal or anything that will scratch it and massage that line firmly not to hard just firm and try to get the pixels to come back otherwise there is something wrong with the LCD pcb possibly.
Usually around the folding area is a key place where they go wrong because its a stress point, you would have to open it or get someone to open it and inspect it and make any repairs.
Mmmhhh.......just tried the above.....and the solid black line has now changed to a faint broken line, and turned GREEN.....weird or what ?
