    No Shutdown Option

This has been a PITA since I got this Windows 10 PC.

When I start the PC there is NO option to shut it down. What I have been doing is using the power button to shut the PC down. I then turn off the power to PC completely then put the power back on and then start the PC.
This usually works at showing Power options. Today it took about 10 tries going thru this procedure before it finally showed the shutdown options.
I want to fix this issue permanently. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello mate,

Do you have any of the other options below available to shut down?

Shut Down Computer in Windows 10

If you don't have "Shut down" in the power menus, then here a couple of items below to check to make sure it wasn't disabled by:

Disable Shut Down, Restart, Sleep, and Hibernate in Windows 10

    Try this:

    a) Press Control + Alt + Delete on your keyboard
    b) Press Task Manager
    c) In Task Manager, press File -> Run new task
    d) Type: explorer
    e) Press OK

Does the Start button appear after doing that?

Let me say it again: When this happens there is NO Start button and NO Search box. On startup this morning windows update and everything looks as it should.

pepanee, when it does boot with no Start button, I will definitely try your suggestion.

spunk, yes that is pretty much what I see when it boots with NO Start button.

Maybe this update this morning will fix the issue (keeping my fingers crossed.

    Thanks guys.

You say that's what you see, but the pic in Post #5 has a big Red Arrow is pointing to the START Button?? The Start button no longer says Start, it is just a Windows flag.

The File Explorer could be crashing open the Command Prompt with administrative privileges and execute the following commands one at a time.

    Code:
    Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    Sfc /scannow
These commands repairs corrupted Windows system files.

You should also perform clean boot state to help you troubleshoot and determine conflicts in your setup.

I must have been blind when I took the first screen shots for this computer. I am on it right now.
When I look at the task bar, I DO NOT see the Start Botton nor the Search box; however when I take a shot low and behold they are both there.

    See the image.

There they are bigger than life off set to the left. NOW the question is; how to see the whole task bar. I have also noticed that when I open a website I can NOT see the whole site when turn it on to full screen. I assume this is the same problem.

I thought it was maybe the monitor, but I switched the monitor to another PC and it did NOT have have same issue.

    HELP Please
