What is the registry entry or is there a reg file I can use?
Thank you.
What is the registry entry or is there a reg file I can use?
Thank you.
I'm on Windows 11 at the moment so I can't check.
Do you have this option, yet?
If you don't have this in your registry, you can try adding it.
Export the "Advanced" key first.
If it's not there, right click on the right side and choose:
New > DWORD (32 bit), and name it UseCompactMode and set it to "1"
Then you may have to restart Explorer or even reboot to apply the changes.
In Win 7 there was an easy way to do this, but I'm hoping the underlying registry item with a number of pixels is similar.
I want to increase it a little (not sure how much).
I guess MS decoded I'm too stupid.
For the desktop, yes. For file explorer, not seen anything that I can remember. There may be... somewhere.. try Ghot's idea in response to yout initial question. But now you want increased spacing...
I see no such option

The number of pixels is stored somewhere, I'm guessing the registry.
Any registry mavens can help?

I am aware of Desktop icon spacing:
Change Desktop icon spacing in Windows 10 and Windows 8 / 8.1
Don't know about spacing in File Explorer though.
Would be nice if there was a simple option to be able to customize the looks of Windows 10
