Windows typically synchronizes the time once a week, but that can apparently be changed.

How to Change the Time Synchronization Interval in Windows

Doesn't Windows get the time at bootup from the BIOS clock. This clock should keep time even when the computer is powered off. It gets its power from the BIOS battery. This clock slowly gains or loses time so Windows occasionally has to synchronize its time. I assume when Windows is running it updates the BIOS clock. That way when the next time the computer is booted it ill have the corrected time.

If you think about it Windows has to be getting its time at bootup from the BIOS clock. Other wise if the Internet wasn't connected the time would be way off.

If you only use the laptop plugged in, there is a command you can add to the startup script but I can't find it at this time,

Well here we are a few days later and it is still not keeping time.
I have messed with the sync, auto on/off a few times but nothing seems to work.
In Services I changed the Time to Auto under Startup, but that didn't help either.
Not sure where to go now.

I'm assuming you checked in the BIOS to make sure the time and date are set correctly?

    Hi,

    I have Win 10 Home 22H2 19045.2604 120.2212.4190.0 on a HP Laptop Pavilion DV6.

    All updates are correct.

It will not keep time, no matter what options I have taken so far, including a different time server.

When I sync it, it gets the correct time, but when I power down etc it stops. I guess stops syncing.

    Any ideas please?

After a long switched off period, start your computer and enter BIOS. Is time correct?
If it is, did you check the time zone set on windows?
