    Force a file closed in order to delete it right away?


    Is this possible and if so how? Thank you.

    Hi, assuming you mean that something is holding a file open and you want to delete it, there are good freeware programs for 'unlocking' and deleting files - e.g. via a context menu option.

    Here's one:
    LockHunter is a free 64/32 bit tool to delete files blocked by any processes
    another:
    Wise Force Deleter - Unlock and Delete 'Access Denied' File or Folder

    MS provides Powertoys, which includes 'Locksmith' as an option:
