copy/backup/clone? small ssd to bigger one

    the stituation:
i received a new laptop with 128Gb sdd and win11
my data [and OS win10 which i am willing to sacrifice] is on a 250Gb ssd - old pc
    question:
can i get a 1Tb ssd for the laptop, clone the present 128Gb to it, which will include the win11 and after that partition the new ssd to say drive C with the new OS and drive D with the old data and copy [with macrium] the old 250Gb to the D partition?
to my mind it will see the win11 and boot, giving me access to the new partition D with my old files. some programs will have to be reinstalled.
    any help will be welcome
    regards
    g

    EDIT
on opening the laptop i searched in vain for a place to fit a ssd, no caddy, no slot for an eMMc or ssd yet a place i can put in some ram [max 8 gb] and on running belarc explorer on the sorry excuse for a computer my worst suspicions were cemented when it was indicated that the 128Gb hdd was in fact a glorified soldered to the MB scan memory stick...
do yourselves a favour, avoid the acer aspire A115-31-c2vy,

    Gabriel,

Yes but you will only want to restore the old 250GB disk's D:\ data drive to the new SSD [not its old WIn10 C:\ drive with the old OS on it].

The programs on the new 128GB disk will remain.
The programs that were on the old 250GB disk will disappear.

    Gabriel,

Yes I've also bought soldered-in storage without realising it. I'd never even heard of eMMC beforehand.
It's in my Chuwi Hi10 Pro which I bought it as a small & light travel computer.
It does its job but it's a bit galling that its OS disk cannot be replaced at all.
I think that all soldered-in storage is called eMMC {and that all eMMCs are soldered-in} but I haven't studied the subject so might well be wrong. Acer just describes yours as being "flash memory" in the specs I found.

My current main computer is a laptop with two internal disk connections, an M.2 & a Sata.
The M.2 is nice fast whilst the Sata disk is nice & cheap.
I like having that second physical disk to use for slow things like audio/video files and as a convenient local/interim backup location {so I don't have to pack my proper external backup drives if I'm going away}.
My current main computer also seems to be the last generation that avoided being afflicted with S0 Modern standby.
I hope my current main computer lasts forever.

    All the best,
    Thanks for the rep,
    Denis

    Welcome to TenForums.

It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.
    - At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
    - I download a new copy each month.
    - By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
    - Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
    - Both tutorial lists are searchable.
    - You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
    taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials

You can search TenForums using the search box in the top-right corner of all TenForums webpages or using Advanced Search - TenForums
    - You can also search TenForums threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
    - [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]
