    Release a Windows Media Creation Tool Thumb Drive - Command Line


    I have booted from a Windows Media Creation Tool USB thumb drive.

    How do it properly release the USB device before shutting down?

    Is there Command Line syntax that works?

    Just shut down then remove it.

    You no longer have to Safely Remove a USB Flash drive, especially if you are not in Windows. If it is not accessing the drive (ie) copying files, you can remove it anytime. Or if you are paranoid, remove it on first Reboot or Shutdown then remove.
