    Again. Merge the reg file.

Download that then right click it and choose "merge"

Then .rft files will always open with Docpad and you won't have the problem.

It should open this window. If it doesn't then where does it go to?

I've never seen an icon with blue paper and a red A. I think that maybe it's not microsoft's wordpad.

    FYI:
Where is the Windows 10 / 11 WordPad, how to open the writer?

No blue paper and no red letter A.

Mabe you installed an office suite or similar. Do ask asked and merge the reg file. Also confirm that you have wordpad as defined in the paths listed in the link in this post.

It's the Write.exe file in C:\Windows folder. WinKey + R, type write and it opens WordPad. Write was the name for it back in the '90s and Win3.x/WFW.

just tried a screenshot of the wordpad window I get. I brought it up, pressed alt and printscreen, then it says it is copied, and I can paste it. so I came inside this, clicked and it showed 'paste', clicked on paste, but it didnt show.

***how the heck can it not be 'wordpad' that I bring up? I write it in the search box, that symbol w/red A comes up saying "Wordpad" under it, and a window comes up saying "Document - Wordpad.
