Windows can wake up to run certain tasks regardless of state. Same as CMOS settings.
    Hi Bro67:

Thanks for the reply. But, not much information. Which tasks? How to disable? None of my other windows computers (I have 3 Win 10 computers) have this issue. So, it's something on this particular machine. I have Windows Update disabled (or postponed for 30 days, which is as close as you can get), and I do not see this issue when I put the computer to sleep, only hibernate.

This is an older motherboard that does not support a lot of the new Windows features.

That driver is only 4 days old, Geforce Experience does not list it at all. I don't know how you guys find this stuff. Installing it now.

You could try to disable the NVIDIA Audio drivers in DEVICE MANAGER.
    Attachment 384500

And is pretty easy to enable them again......too.
May it is sufficient with the virtual one...you have to try.

It could be any number of things.

The relevant log may or may not help.
Set it up in Event viewer as a Custom view - see Import Event viewer, Custom views - Power state transitions - my post #4 - TenForums

But first I suggest you check your settings in
    Control panel,
    Security & maintenance,
    Maintenance,
    Change maintenance settings.
    - Time
    - Allow ... wake up

    Hey Denis:

Thanks for the reply. I checked this setting, it was already disabled, but the time was set to 2AM so I changed it to 6PM just in case.

Always restart PC after new NVIDIA driver, even if it is not asking you to do so.
And before restarting, you could disable the Audio drivers.

    Hello MG,

In addition, you can check below to see any wake sources and timers may be responsible.

Ok, I have disabled all the Nvidia audio drivers, and the latest driver is installed. No immediate effect, I'll have to see what happens later tonight.

Thanks all for your input. I'll post results tomorrow.

Also restart PC, so the old remains could disappear.

    Hi Brink:

Thanks for the reply. Yes, that seems to be it. Power Troubleshooter lists:

Wake Source: Timer - Windows will execute 'NT TASK\HP\HP Print Scan Doctor\Printer Health Monitor' scheduled task that requested waking the computer.

Now, how do I disable this? There doesn't seem to be any entries in the task scheduler for this program.
