Cleaning out win 10 PC
Hi, I'm clearing out my old win 10 PC before I give it to Goodwill and I'm trying to remove my logon pic and email address on the account screen. How do I do that? Thanks.

You could:
- clean install Win 10 completely (tutorial available)
or
- reset Windows (remove everything option)
Reset Windows 10
- and then also wipe free space to be sure.
For Windows 10, go to the Start Menu and click on Settings. Then navigate to Update & Security, and find the Recovery menu. Next, select Reset this PC and choose Get Started. Follow the instructions to revert your computer to when it was first unboxed.
Hello @esebm,
There are two options available . . .
> Clean Install Windows 10
> Reset Windows 10
The first option above is probably the best.
Make sure that you DELETE ALL PARTITIONS leaving a SINGLEUnallocated Space
in which to install Windows. You could even shut down the computer at the firstReboot
so whenever it gets turned on next the new user can complete the installation.
I hope this helps.
Did that. Now I'm at the screen asking about the region but neither the mouse nor the keyboard is working. What now?
Just pull the hard drives since they will just eCycle the machine
What do you mean, pull the hard drives. Throw the PC away?
Use ---dban---if the drive is a hdd,not an ssd.
Obtainable from ---lifewire.com ---or ---sourceforge.net ---
Standard operational procedure,read the instructions.
I recently tried to clear down a netbook for the same reason. Unfortunately there was not enough memory to do a clean install from the ISO file.
In the end I loaded Linux Mint on it.
