How to open Maximised Explorer windows by default?

Yes I know there are a squillion threads on this but my problem is a variation of the usual.

I run windows 7 pro 64bit on my main computer but most fixes for win 10 work just as well on Win 7. My Lenovo gaming laptop runs Win 10 and this problem applies to both computers (only because I tested if it also applied to win 10 pro. That computer is vastly inferior to the older desktop because the screen is too small and gaming and graphics have different requirements but that was what I was told was the second best option to a custom build).

I am scanning a lot of historic documents (typically over 1000 pages per day) and the Epson Scan 2 software for my new scanner insists on opening the SSD where I process all scanned documents small screen. I can reset the page using any of the usual fixes (drag to maximised then Control and red X or drag maximised then control alt shift red X, etc) and the folder will open again normally until the next time I use Scan 2. Then it resets the lot to @#$%^& small screen and I have to go thru the whole process again. Being in my 80s and vision impaired this is getting to be a massive waste of time which I cannot afford.

According to Epson it is a Microsoft problem (I do not agree) so does anyone have a permanent fix for this on Win 10?

File Explorer and the older Windows Explorer has always opened for me to the last time it was used but clicking the middle icon in upper right corner will Maximize the program window and should return that way each time. That icon toggles between Maximized and Restore [go back to previous view].

I'm in your age bracket but fortunately can see pretty good, had cataracts remove a couple years ago.

If you cannot find a fix, then have a small script running in the background to maximise the window.

Autohotkey (free, very well-documented) is very good at manipulating windows. You can run a 1 line script in simple text form while testing this.

    Example:

You can have this running in a loop- every time the matching window is detected it is then maximised.

With Autohotkey installed. create your script files as e.g.
    Maximisemywindow.ahk

To run that- simply double click it.

Want an exe file? Rt click it, click 'Compile'.
