How to see all files with a certain extension in a folder?

Is there some way that I can get Windows to show me all files of a certain extension in a folder?

I imagine this can be done somehow by doing a search (and I'm interested in how to do that), but I'm wondering if there's some more elegant way to do it as well, because this is a huge folder and a search is gonna take a while.

Personally I'd use SwiftSearch using folder path and wildcard for extension.

There must be hundreds of ways or softwares that could perform this type of search but anything that reads from the MFT is fast.

EDIT: Only for NTFS formatted drives.

Into search bar in Windows explorer simply type an asterisk followed by dot and extension and press enter.

for example to find executable files, type *.exe and press enter.

    Use Windows built-in search.

    a. Simple case:
Open file explorer at the folder.

If you want to see all jpg's, then simply
    *.jpg

    or
    ext:jpg

    in the search box.

    b. If you know the folder name then you can do things like this:

That's file explorer - notice here it's open at H:
Results are only from folders whose name contains 'summer'

N.B. use this tweak to make Windows search work as it did up to build 1903 (i.e. properly) using this great free tweak tool:

In File explorer's Details view, hover your cursor over the File explorer column heading Type.
A little dropdown arrow appears that you can use to display only the selected file type[s].

If you add File extension to your Details columns [right-click on any column header then choose More ... and select it from a list] then you can do the same thing with the file extension.
