Very quiet CPU for (mostly) office use?

    Thanks everyone for the feedback. It's indeed 32-bit Windows 7 running on a 64-bit AMD processor.

    As someone mentioned... look for one with 16GB of RAM, minimum... so editing is fast.

I was eating so I unplugged the microphone so it doesn't dip into my food, after I was done I plugged my mic back in and now it's very quiet.
This problem appeared when I installed W10 (I didn't have this issue with W7) so I know that it's not a hardware problem. In the headphone I have this constant and quiet hi-frequency "beep" like a sonar. Changing the volume up or down in task bar...

Hi, Whenever I start my PC the notification icon has a circle with a line through it? It says quiet hours if off, when I toggle it on and off again the circle with line goes? Is this a bug or am I missing something? Cheers
