Any 1 Successfully Disabled News/ Interest From Search Box?

Win 10 21H1. It is already disabled from the right hand side of the taskbar but I cannot get rid of it when I click on the bottom left search icon. It looks like this:

It was already recommended on here to look at the tutorial section but if I am not mistaken that deals with removing News and Interest from the taskbar which I have already done.

I have tried the registry using the Registry and the ShellFeedsTaskbarViewMode hack and as well as disabling it via the Group Policy editor and yet that puppy remains.

All I want to see when I click search on the bottom left hand side of the screen is the search box where it says "Type here to search". Everything else above the search box is just noise to me and I would love to obliterate it. TIA.

I don't have News on my Search menu. I have News and Interests disabled, and I also have Cortana disabled.
Cortana is mixed up with the Taskbar Search... quite a bit.

As a test, try disabling Cortana, like this...

Open the registry editor and go here...

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search

On the right side... create a new 32-bit DWORD value here named AllowCortana and leave its value data as "0" (zero). If you decide you want Cortana back, Just set AllowCortana to "1", or delete it altogether.

You can also enable/disable web results in Search...
Turn On or Off Search online and include web results in Windows 10

    Hello @phaedruspress,

This feature would be "Search Highlights". The tutorial below can help show you how to disable it.

Thanks for replying. I already had "AllowCortana" in the registry and it was set to ZERO.

I'll have to check on the "You can also enable/disable web results in Search..." later this weekend.

If you wish to have absolutely no web content in the Windows search results, add the BingSearchEnabled=0 setting as per this tutorial. The tutorial says it's for Windows 11 Dev channel, but it's now applicable to current versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11.

    Thanks. That worked for me.
