Axcrypt icon display on protected files functions differently on 2 PCs

I have Windows 10 Pro on 2 computers. And use the same Axcrypt app for securing files on both PCs.

On one PC, a secured file displays as a Green Shield. And when clicked to open, I have to put in the security code.

On the other PC, secured files display as a written scroll with a capital A. When clicked, the file opens without a security code, but the page displayed is a mixture of random figures. To read the actual file, I have to decrypt it.

I don't understand why the 2nd PC opens the secured file at all without a pass code ... even though the display is unreadable.

Which version are you using, free or premium and if the latter then check how many computers are covered by the rental.
Normally only one unless it is a Business subscription and this would explain your problem as to why one works and the other doesn't.
