Even when the laptop supports modern standby, "When I close the lid" doesn't have that option and is set to "Sleep". Use "powercfg /a" in cmd to check for "Standby(S0 Low Power Idle)"
I have also had that limitation.
In my case, I believe it was configured in the Bios but not in a section that is made visible so there was nothing I could do about it.
In my case, it was configured to ignore any change made even if the relevant setting had been changed directly in the power plan using PowerCfg commands.
But my post that you seem to be replying to was not a request for assistance. I was trying to find out what cereberus's Lid close action was set to.
