Wifi Driver and Taskbar problems, I need help

Ok let me start by saying I don't know much about this stuff so bear with me plz. I have two problems:

    1. Every time I restart or startup my computer the wifi driver does not work so I have to uninstall it then reinstall it.

My computer is a Lenovo y510p the driver that I used is intels: Wireless_18.12.1_ Win64Not sure if I should be using this specific one.

    2. The start Menu does not work and I cannot right click on anything in the taskbar.

    For a time putting this:
    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
into the Admin PowerShell prompt fixed the start menu and it also fixed the rightclick on icons in taskbar. However this does not work for me anymore!

Also when I restart explorer.exe in task manager my taskbar fails to work and my desktop background turns black!

Please can anyone help me and Thankyou for your Time!!

Hello Aody Welcome to the Ten Forums!

And you saw all this following the upgrade over the previous version no less! Just saw almost the identical situation where the Start button was missing and the Settings screen blank and no access to Start>Apps! The upgrade was buggy and fortunately was being immediately replaced by a clean install of 10. That's what you need to be planning now in order to get 10 running normally if not opting for the Upgrade to Repair type install on the Windows 10 upgrade you are presently having problems with.

First things first back up anything you want to keep from the Programs and users folders either to removable media or to a separate folder on the drive if you are not planning on a reformat. Once you have things backed up you should look over both of the two guides I can point you to. I keep the links in my forum signature but can you to the Upgrade Repair install method outlined in the first guide seen at Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade - Windows 10 Forums[2]=Installation%20and%20Setup

On the initial upgrade seen here I couldn't get anything to install besides some pc games but no antivirus or other softwares! But due to the volume on activation servers during the first week that was a bad time! Since then however you shouldn't run into any problem seeing the Upgrade to Repair type of reinstall of 10 activated right away.

The ideal solution most opt for however is to simply nuke everything since 10 was activate we hope and simply toss Windows 10 - Clean Install - Windows 10 Forums[2]=Installation%20and%20
Sets up a nice clean friendly fresh start type of 10 install to get you where you should be! Clean installs of Windows or any other OS as a rule typically are the fastest problem solvers!

As for the WiFi driver problem Lenovo's support site can be a little tricky to navigate around on in order to at least get the most recent for 8 or 81 one if 10 drivers are not out yet. Generally however 10 will locate and install the correct drivers automatically during the installation and then see the final restart before reaching the desktop for the first time again. 10 has already configured itself to the ISP connection unless prompted to enter any user name, password information to log onto the local network such as a WiFi router. etc.

Thank You for the quick feedback Night Hawk!
I was hoping to avoid having to do a clean install It's probably my best option. So many programs to reinstall with many I have to re download from the internet and I have a 20gb monthly data cap so I have to use the library which will take days and I need my laptop for online classes so I won't be fixing it any time soon.
Sorry for the rant. Thank You for the support! <3

Well the common problem seen with upgrades is people not preparting for a new OS and then running into problems without being prepared ahead of time like already having a disaster recovery plan in mind! You have to expect you may need one or more clean installs when going to try out any newer version. I ended up replacing a pair of 1tb storage drives for a slightly used 1tb one removed from the external usb enclosure as well as going for broke with a brand 2tb drive added in once 10 was up and running normally.

Presently seeing the 3rd clean install of 10 Home x64 on a laptop here since I found I couldn't shrink the OEM primary 7 came preinstalled on where that had first seen the "bugggeeee..." upgrade install missing things like the Start button and a blank screen for the Settings and "got rid of fast" solution! Now the drive was split up in two one smaller part for Backup regardless of OS and the main primary that doesn't have to so large since the owner is entirely pc illiterate and has to be shown everything!

I know like everyone else you hate the down time but need to get past that in order to have a working set up. I'm sure MS will see a good number of patches as well as security updates coming along over the next several months as usual.
