    Notifications, weather alerts... in the taskbar of News and Interest.


    Hello,

    I have to admit, I like the weather display of "News and Interests" in the taskbar.
    However, the red dot that is displayed from time to time to indicate new notifications is extremely annoying.

    Have already turned off the notification settings and all toggles under "Manage Interests".
    Nevertheless, the thing is displayed again and again - Microsoft once again does not care what their customers want to be displayed or not.
    Often only "News" is displayed, to get the weather again I have to update the feed manually.

    Can this indicator be turned off without lossing the weather/temperature feature?
    I just want to see the weather and temperature - no alerts, news, stock prices, or which z celebrity just coughed.
    Is there an equivalent third-party alternative?

    Hi, if you click on the 3 dots per item you can specify more or fewer stories like this, etc.
    The red dot was an extra feature that suddenly appeared, seeming to indicate the top item is something more significant.

    You can of course remove it from the taskbar altogether.

    3rd party? A mattter of choice and preference. E.g. I found
