Turn html pages into linked indexed markdown files?

I have many pages of links of html, they open the web browser ( currently only way I know to view these )
of pages of different text. I'm not sure what I'm asking here.

I'm hoping for random interesting suggestions,
about what I could be doing or using to help facilitate, something.

These html files and contents I want organized and edited, and a easy way to link the pages and contents together,
in a more indexed way for study.

Also, I'd like to convert these html files to Markdown files ( .md ).
I guess I need software's to facilitate their use and organization and to convert it.

Again I'm unsure what I'm asking.
But do appreciate any thoughts or insights that may guide in this task.

    Windows 10.

How about creating 1 html file that has an index of all other html links that would reduce the number of link files you have. Or you could just add all links to the favorite links part of your browser? Can you show with pictures what you have for better understanding?

I really have nothing but random html files right now. Currently copying web pages, and they are each given titles and number index. Each number opens a page of info for that Title.

These are just html files I guess, when you download a page using Httrack software. After it leaves that software. I need other software to organize and edit this. But I'm not sure what my options are. Im looking for easy of use But good editing.
I already have some ideas in mind. But I'm looking to mix a new tools that may make this job easier.

Create a hierarchy of folders for your subjects of interest & stick your links & other files in suitable folders according to their subject matter.
For example, in my Documents folder, I have a folder for IT. Within the IT folder, I have folders for MSOffice, Windows 10, Windows 11, ... Within those I have further subfolders.

Such a scheme is inherently flexible.
    - You can search through all or part of the folder hierarchy.
    - You can re-arrange things if your focus or perspective changes.
    - You can add cross-references between folders [shortcuts] - e.g. my Windows 10/Bluetooth folder contains a shortcut to my Windows 11/Bluetooth folder & vice versa.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

You're effectively building a web site.. an index file and a linked set of html files.

    See:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/pre...for-a-web-site
    for a possible method

is there a way or software to link to those folders in the context menu? Say I hover over a word in a document, id like it to open to all those folders or files within the folders as links or whatever. Either automatically or with a right click.

You'd have to create a link on that word to the relevant folder yourself.
MSOffice Word makes it easy to create hyperlinks
    - Select the word or words, select the Insert menu/ribbon, click on the hyperlink icon, write in the folder/file address [personally, I always copy & paste paths from File explorer into the dialog so I avoid typos].
    - You'll see the word formatted as a hyperlink so you'll know that it does something.
    - If you hover over the word then a popup will show you the address it's pointing to.
    - Then, to use the hyperlink, just click on the word.

    All the best,

I've no idea what justification you have wanting to use markdown but, hey-ho, that's your business. (Personally I think adding the requirement just needlessly overcomplicates a fairly simple need.)

Here's a random interesting suggestion - build your own custom solution using AutoHotkey.

Have a look at Jack Dunning's thoughts about a similar need, in which he wrote about linking URLs:

    I wondered:
Wouldn’t it be great to just click a link in the Notes window to load the page?

    Does this strike a chord?

    Hope this helps...

Bit too complex. Autohot keys are not easy. But looking for a stand along software plug and play. Thanks for the idea. Do use Auto hotkeys for other things.

I found something called WhizFolders. This maybe closer to what I was looking for. I can just throw the html files in here and reference them with links or just lists for later use.

Found another called UltraRecall from kinook.
