PDF document flawed: I would like to convert to Microsoft Word

I received a general-information PDF from my doctor that is cut off both left and right. Also, the PDF is frozen; I can’t do anything with it. (PDF = Portable Document Format)

    Here is the PDF:

Can someone fix the PDF Document and also convert it to Microsoft Word.

    Thank You

Hi, you should consult your doctor and ask them to resend it- possibly in a different format.

Please do not post anything here that contains personally identifiable information- that would put you at risk.

Sometimes such documents are password protected, and a password is sent separately.

To attach a file you need to 'Go Advanced' and use the Paperclip icon - but please don't do that with this.

There are plenty of free pdf to Word conversion options- e.g. online- just search.

PDF document flawed: I would like to convert to Microsoft Word

    For Dalchina:

I have asked my doctor to fix the PDF or convert it; however, he admits that he does not know how; neither does anyone in his practice.

The PDF is general information, and my query does not contain any personally identifiable information. The information in this PDF applies to many millions of men.

Since viewing your response, I have tried to use three conversion options from online, and I have not been able to do so. I am not a young man; I am not a member of what I term “the computer generation”; therefore, I sometimes lack the knowledge to be able to do these things.

Some of the applications offered on the internet advertise as being Free; however, there is often a gimmick; i.e., perhaps, free for 14 days.

In light of my explanation, am I allowed to proceed in attempting to fix this PDF and convert it to a Word Document? I am certain that someone at the Windows Ten Forums website will be able to help me.

If, after reading my explanation, you still think that my problem is inappropriate, and you have the authority to prohibit me from proceeding, please let me know.

Hi, it's fine to try to upload it then, but it sounds as if it may be a large document.

If image-based, it is likely to be too large - you can try. If you can't you could upload it to another site and post a link ot that.

If text-based, you can compress it then upload it as a zip file.

Is there a link to the document itself that the surgery has?

This site - found very quickly:

just converted a pdf to docx for me and offers OCR (optical character recognition)

    For dalchina:

The PDF is only text and is less than 200 words. There are no images.

I can only make the text larger or smaller or rotate it. Otherwise, I cannot manipulate the text, so I can’t compress it.

This is the link to the PDF: It was in Hyperlink form.

It is possible that the PDF above has to be Hyperlinked in order to use the PDF converter you sent me.

    This additional information might help.

I've gotten .pdf files that turned out to actually be images, usually when scanned and saved.

    For Berton:

Excellent information: That might be what this is.

Since this PDF explains medical-treatment guidelines, it might well be a scanned image from a textbook – perhaps an oversized textbook, which was too large to get on the standard-sized printer. That would explain why the text on both the left and the right is cut off.

Unfortunately what you've posted is just plain text.

If you wish to post a hyperlink, use the greenish globe above your post, else as it's a small document, go Advanced (below you post) use the paperclip icon above your post, browse to your file and upload it.

    http://testosterone adjustment PDF.pdf

    This Hyperlink leads nowhere.

I think Berton might be correct: this PDF could well be a scanned image, likely from a medical textbook.
The question now is: How would this change the outlook of (1) fixing the PDF so that it’s fully readable, and (2) converting the PDF to a Word Document?

Answering my own question: It appears that nothing can be done with this PDF. In order to get a fully readable copy of this text, one would have to go to the original textbook.
