PDF document flawed: I would like to convert to Microsoft Word

    For Berton:

I think you might be right: this PDF could well be a scanned image from a medical textbook.

That means that the PDF cannot be fixed, and

It means that the PDF cannot be converted to a Word Document because there is no PDF file.

In order to get the full-text, one would have to get it from the medical textbook from which it was taken.

No. It is normal for scanners and a good number of pdf tools to do what I said much earlier.. and use

    Optical character recognition

    - which tries to convert imaged text to characters - with likely inaccuracies and misplacement e.g. of mixed text and images.

But why are you interested in doing that?

You are correct and even Edge, Firefox and other browsers can at least read a PDF file but in this case it's the Source of the file being the problem.

There are applications that will scan an image and convert to characters (Optical Character Reader apps).

PDF document flawed: I would like to convert to Microsoft Word

    For dalchina & others:

My objective is to get a fully readable text; i.e., one that is not cut off on the left and on the right. My reason is because there in an ongoing discussion regarding my testosterone dosage. I cannot argue my case well unless I have the full text.

I would also like to have this text as a Word Document so that I can send it to other medical professionals (other than my doctor) for their evaluation.

I got the idea that I can take short snippets from the middle of the text and do searches using those snippets. For example, below are two such snippets:

If testosterone is less than 500 ng/dL
If serum testosterone concentrations are consistently <300 ng/dL

Doing so, I might be able to find the source of the PDF.

Your doctor provides medical, not IT, expertise.

Ask him/her to ask his/her clerical/administrative staff to send you the 'PDF source as a URL'.

(URL - or Uniform Resource Locator - just means 'internet link'.)

If you can get the 'URL' then I'm pretty confident that one of us can convert the PDF for you.)

    Hope this helps...

All people can do is guess about your file. Have you downloaded the file or only viewing it in your browser? If you have downloaded it go down to Manage Attachments and attach it to your post.

Here is an example of a PDF file I attached to my post.

Inform your doctor that you cannot read it and ask him/ her to save as a word document and resend it.
