Dunno yet because my upgrade STILL isn't ready yet (yup it's true).
Ya, my laptop's upgrade still isn't ready yet either. I suppose I could force it with the MCK that I've got on a USB but I'm really not in any great hurry as I've heard some folks talking about how their laptops got all snafued with the upgrade (something about lack of drivers necessary for laptops like wifi and or trackpads etc.).

But once I upgrade I won't likely go back unless I'm forced to for some reason. My desktop was upgraded and while I really dislike the way that 10 looks, I won't be returning to 7 as I just don't see an advantage in doing so, plus I wiped out the Windows.old folder in the first 10 minutes after install as that's the habbit I got into every time that I'd reinstall an OS in the past, not even thinking that W10 would use that to actually roll back if I wanted it to... Good thing I didn't want to.

I'm not going to upgrade my W7 desktops to W10.

I haven't decided whether I'll "upgrade" my laptop to W10 (assuming it can run W10).

I still have my W10IP VM to play around with.

There's so much right with W10, but the email/calendar is erratic at best, you can't, or at least I can't, rely on it. Until that's sorted I've gone back to W7.
    IMO, email programs are garbage.

I guess i am sticking with 10 as well as like one of the others mentioned above; it is indeed the future until microsoft envisions another new operating system.

Will you stay with 10? Or will/have you reverted to Windows 7/8?
Back to 7. Both of my friends who upgraded went back too (one 7, one 8.1).

If I can't customize the colors to my liking, it's a deal breaker. Vast expanses of ugly white, as far as the eye can see. It's not just annoying-- it is painful. The glare of white backgrounds on a LCD panel is intolerably bright, and if I adjust the monitor until it no longer makes my eyes sizzle, everything else looks too dark, and I lose any content that is NOT mostly white.

I never tried 8, but every version of Windows from the first I used (3.0) has had a method of changing the colors of screen elements quickly and easily. 10 has no option to change them at all. Once it does, I will give it another shot.

It actually ran fine on my PC... no issues at all. Everything worked, and was pretty much like it was in 7. It's just so... white. Painfully, hideously white. I look forward to a time when I can play with it some more and see what it can do... I never really got the chance to put it through all its paces. It hurt my eyes too much.

If you checked posts about Themes and Desktops, you would find many more ways to customize windows.

    That looks promising.

When I saw that I could not change anything as far as the colors by normal means, I did some reading, and I saw it in multiple places that much of what used to be defined in .msstyles for the "aero" theme (still called that in the themes directory) can't be changed that way (by editing the .msstyles) anymore, and the only way to go about changing everything was to start with a high-contrast theme and work from there. Perhaps that is the basis of what you have there.

I did experiment with some high contrast themes, so I guess I did know that you can change the colors by that means... so I do admit I was incorrect in stating that you can't change the white at all. Of course, you can only use one of a handful of predetermined colors if you want to use the preinstalled themes. I also noticed that the tearing that used to annoy me in 7 when I used the GDI-drawn themes (high contrast, basic, or classic) seemed to be back... but I didn't investigate it fully. Is it possible that the HC themes in 10 do not use the desktop compositor? I sure don't want to have all that tearing back...

If I am wrong then I am pleasantly surprised. Still annoyed that there is no "out of the box" way to change the color from white without using one of the default ugly HC themes, but I can deal with that.
