Text file compare or diff checker

    Hey guys,

I had made my phone contacts backup like 1 month ago and I forgot to tick the phone number option where I have only contact name without numbers on that backup.vcf file and after some days I had deleted some non used contacts. Now I am willing to see which contact name and numbers I have deleted. I have used Notepad++ compare plugin and diffchecker.com but it didnt worked well.

Furthermore, Notepad++ compare is not showing line wise its showing shuffled where differchecker is good but there is no option to add multiple numbers at once as I stated above the new backup file dont have the numbers where old backup file have name and numbers both.

Is there any alternative software ?

    Note:
    ====
I have made a contact backup in December 2021 which have name and numbers and its like 911 contacts.
I have made a contact backup in April 2022 which have only names and its like 982 contacts.
I have made a contact backup in June 2022 which have only names and its like 991 contacts.

I want to know exactly which contact have no number in June 2022.vcf file.

    Regards.

.vcf files are not plain text, so a text-file compare will fail.

Look online for a .vcf file reader. I found this: View VCF Online | Free GroupDocs Apps

If you can read both .vcf files using that web site, and if you can save the results as text files, then you can compare the two text files.

My first thought on this is to export each contact list to a CSV file and then compare those two files using Beyond Compare or something similar.

I use both Winmerge and Beyond Compare, however, one of them is free and the other is a paid version with a 30 day trial, if I am not mistaken. I just can't remember which one is which anymore.

I must say though that I find the user interface in Winmerge a little better to see and work with, but you might find Beyond compare to your liking. My suggestion is to try both.

I just want something that can copy paste the deleted contacts to new contact vcf file. Checking all contacts is just headache.

    Here's another idea.

Try importing one of your vcf files into a spreadsheet e.g. Excel or a free alternative.

Imagine one column is names, the next, numbers.

Now imagine you have both VCF's imported similarly.

You can now try aligning and sorting columns and then play spot the difference.

Actually you should be able to use spreadsheet features to pick out void entries..
